Automatedassemblylineoptimization
Overview:
The client’s legacy assembly operations suffered from assembly bottlenecks in vision inspection and automated torque fastening. Tin Dai Phu retrofitted the line with 8 six-axis articulated robots, Cognex industrial vision systems, and a real-time SCADA telemetry hub.
Approach:
We designed a modular production flow utilizing smart palletizing conveyors, Siemens S7-1500 PLC central orchestration via Profinet, and synchronized Fanuc robotic cells. All torque metrics and optical defect data stream automatically into the plant MES/SQL database.
Technical Specifications:
- Central Controller: Siemens S7-1500 PLC & WinCC Unified SCADA
- Robotics Integrated: 8 six-axis Fanuc & KUKA Robotic arms
- Vision System: Cognex In-Sight 2D/3D High-Res Cameras
- Protocols: Profinet IRT & Industrial OPC UA
- Cycle Time: Reduced from 45s to 17s per unit
Results:
Following commissioning, line throughput surged by 62%, eliminating screw-torque defects entirely and reducing direct assembly labor costs by 75%. Real-time SCADA telemetry allows plant managers to monitor production quotas remotely.
